Treatment and Therapy Programs

On your first visit we will do an assessment

A counselor will discuss with you your concerns and and issues of problem gambling. We use a screening questionnaire, the South Oaks Gambling Screen or SOGS (Lesieur & Blume, 1987), to recognize gambling problems. If counseling is indicated then together we will determine the level of care which will best meet your needs.

Individual Therapy

You will work with a counselor on an individualized treatment plan that best serves your needs. Individual treatment sessions last for 1 to 1.25 hours weekly.

Group Therapy

Group therapy meets twice a week for the purpose of creating more awareness around problem gambling. Meeting in groups may create a network of support, knowing that you are not alone in your addiction. Our groups remain small for a more personal approach. They consist of no more than eight participants.

Family Therapy

Problem gambling affects each member of the family uniquely. Therefore greater involvement with family members or significant other utilizes the family's strengths and resources to find ways to overcome crisis in the family and support abstinence from gambling.

Family meetings last from 1 to 1.5 hours
